Answers to some questions that have popped up during the development process.



Q: How long will it take until the recreational loop trail is complete?

A: 3-5 years using FWP 2011 RTP Grant; Feb. 2011 awarded $500,000 matching grant to build 16 miles trail and 4 trailheads to connect to USFS/Taylor Creek Road at north Whitefish Lake.


Q: Who are the primary groups working together?


A: Whitefish Legacy Partners, City of Whitefish, Fish, Wildlife and Parks, USFS, and the MT Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC).


Q: What is the entire project cost?


A: 1.5 million – 2.5 million, including donations, in-kind donations and contributions, government grants and private fundraising.


Q: How will the project be paid for?


A: The FWP 2011 RTP Grant matched with donations, fundraising, local support and continued in-kind contributions, volunteer support.
