About the event

Join us for a free trap release workshop with Montana K9 Safety! This workshop will provide you with the skills to remove your dog in the event it is accidentally caught in a trap. Topics include kinds of traps, trapping regulations, and tools needed to be able to effectively and quickly removed your dog from a trap.


The Whitefish Trail runs through State Trust Lands and US Forest Service lands where traps may be present. All trapping in Montana is regulated by Montana's Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. Go to their page for more information: https://fwp.mt.gov/hunt/trapping


We will meet at Lion Mountain Trailhead at 4pm and walk .5 miles on a dirt road to the Learning Pavilion where our workshop will be held.
