August Whitefish Trail Report

The trails have really benefitted from the recent rains and are in great shape across the system. The huckleberries are still going strong at higher elevations, and the trails feel like paradise since the heat has broken. Trail crews are still hard at work checking off the summer to do list. We are working hard to make the trails safer for all users and sustainable on the landscape over the long term. With 47 miles of trail and 15 trailheads we couldn't do it without a whole team of contributors including our trail volunteers, trail patrollers, corporate and Adopt A Trail sponsors, and our Whitefish Trail Friends, Family and Partners! This year during Great Fish please donate to Whitefish Legacy Partners to help keep the trails in great shape and accessible to all forever.

Send your trail reports and photos to info@whitefishlegacy.org!

A few days ago I walked the trail to Swift Creek and found I couldn't get to the overlook. Maybe it was my mistake, but it looked like the trail was blocked at the turn to do the loop, which I ended up doing. I wanted to see the overlook. Put up a sign if that last few hundred yards are blocked off.
