Calling all WT Volunteers!

Do you love your trail? Would you like to spend an afternoon swinging a pulaski to help with maintenance? How about cheering on runners as they make their way from Depot Park to the summit of Big Mountain and back at the Whitefish Trail Legacy Run? We'd love to have you join us in one of our many WT volunteer programs:

Trail Patrol - As a trail patroller, every hike, bike, run, or ski you do on the Whitefish Trail can help us monitor trail conditions, assist other trail users, and provide us value toward our required financial match for grants. We ask that you commit to at least two patrols a month (Trail Patrol Training 4/20/23 @ 6pm at the WLP office - more information and sign up below).

Trail Crew - Volunteers are critical to our ability to maintain all 47 miles of Whitefish Trail. Whether you're brand new or a seasoned trail dog, join us for a public work day to help improve the trails you love to use.

Adopt-a-Trail Crew - For businesses or community groups that are looking to make a section of trail their own, we have a few open WT sections in need of a maintenance crew. Adopt-a-Trail Crews make a three year commitment, and complete a minimum of two work days a year. Training is provided.

Events - The Whitefish Trail Hootenanny and Whitefish Trail Legacy Run are two of our biggest fundraisers each year, and are only made possible by all our event volunteers. Help sell raffle tickets, serve beer, check in runners, or staff an aid station!

Office - If you'd rather give your time indoors, we have a number of office projects throughout the year.

The Whitefish Trail runs through a mix of state, federal, and private lands. These cooperative partners seek to preserve public access, healthy forests, wildlife habitat and water quality on these open lands.
