COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS

2025 Spring and Summer program planning is underway, and we have a lot of exciting offerings to announce! Camp dates, including 3 weeks of Forest Explorers, 1 week of Girls on the Trail, and 6 days of the Girls Bike n' Swim program will be released on our website on Monday, March 17 with registration opening on Monday, April 7 at 8am.

RSVPs for FREE spring/summer events - Mushroom Hunt, Orienteering, and Stargazing! - opens two weeks before the event. These event dates will be released on a rolling basis on our website, Facebook and Instagram.

SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS

It's school field trip season on the Whitefish Trail! We have been working hard to update our field trip curriculum to further meet the needs of teachers and students. This spring WLP has 15 field trips planned reaching many schools across the Flathead Valley. Thanks teachers for taking our survey and signing up so quickly! And thank you, Flathead Conservation District for the busing support. Field trips take place mostly on Thursdays and Fridays between 9am-1pm and end in early June. Please leash your dog when you see the "WT education program in session" sign at Lion Mountain.

With this new growth, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! If you or anyone you know is interested in helping with a school field trip on the Whitefish Trail, please reach out to Haley, our Education Coordinator, and we will provide you information about dates, times, field topics, and expectations. You don't need to be an educator - just willing to help our Education Coordinator lead stations. You're sure to be inspired by our local youth.

The Whitefish Trail runs through a mix of state, federal, and private lands. These cooperative partners seek to preserve public access, healthy forests, wildlife habitat and water quality on these open lands.
